Should You Reroll?
Short answer: Probably not. The community consensus after the first week of Early Access is that rerolling is not worth the hassle in SDS Origin. Here is why:
- 200+ free pulls are available through natural gameplay (Star Fragments, Draw Tickets from quests and events)
- Account deletion has a 30-day cooldown — you cannot instantly wipe and restart on the same account
- The beginner gacha guarantees useful SR characters (Tristan, Slater) that carry you through early content
- Pre-registration rewards give you Tioreh (SR) for free, and Grand Launch sign-in gives Guila (SR)
If you are a perfectionist who absolutely must start with a specific SSR, read on for platform-specific methods. Otherwise, just play the game.
Gacha Rates at a Glance
| Pull Type | Rate | |-----------|------| | SSR (any) | 0.8% | | SSR Pick-Up character | 0.4% | | SR | 6.0% | | R weapon | 93.2% | | Soft pity starts | ~Pull 65 | | Hard pity (random SSR) | Pull 80 | | Pick-Up guarantee | Pull 120 |
There is a 50/50 system: when you hit pity, you have a 50% chance of getting the featured character. If you lose the 50/50, your next SSR is guaranteed to be the Pick-Up character.
Reroll Difficulty by Platform
Steam (Easiest)
- Create a new Steam account (or use Family Sharing)
- Link a new Netmarble account
- Play through the tutorial and spend your starter pulls
- If unhappy, switch to another Steam account and repeat
Steam is the easiest platform because you can manage multiple accounts without waiting.
Mobile — iOS / Android (Medium)
- Start the game and play through the tutorial
- Use your starter pulls
- If unhappy, request account deletion from settings
- Wait 30 days for the deletion to process
- Start fresh
The 30-day wait makes mobile rerolling impractical for most players. You could use a guest account to bypass this, but linking to Netmarble for cross-save locks you in.
PS5 (Hardest)
- Create a new PSN account
- Link a new Netmarble account
- Play through tutorial and pull
- If unhappy, create yet another PSN account
PS5 rerolling requires creating entirely new PSN accounts each time, making it the most tedious option.
Best Reroll Targets (If You Insist)
Based on the current tier list, these SSR characters with their best weapons are the top targets:
| Priority | Character | Best Weapon | Why | |----------|-----------|-------------|-----| | 1 | Meliodas | Axe or Dual Swords | S-tier DPS, the protagonist for a reason | | 2 | King | Grimoire/Staff | S-tier support, invaluable for all content | | 3 | Jericho | Lance | S-tier DPS, strong in boss fights | | 4 | Drake | Greatsword | S-tier DPS, excellent scaling | | 5 | Elaine | Staff/Wand | S-tier support/healer |
Any single S-tier SSR plus the free SR characters (Tristan, Slater, Tioreh, Guila) will comfortably clear all early and mid-game content.
The F2P Math
Over your first 100+ hours of play, you can expect:
- 200+ free pulls from Star Fragments found in the open world, quest rewards, and event Draw Tickets
- Soft pity at pull 65 means you are statistically likely to hit at least 2-3 SSR characters naturally
- The beginner banner guarantees Tristan (SR, S-tier with Dual Swords) who is competitive with many SSR characters
Spending 2-3 hours rerolling to maybe get one specific SSR is a poor trade when the game hands you hundreds of pulls for free.
Summary
| Factor | Verdict | |--------|---------| | Worth rerolling? | No for most players | | Best platform to reroll | Steam | | Worst platform to reroll | PS5 | | Account deletion wait | 30 days | | Free pulls available | 200+ | | Can F2P clear main story? | Yes |
